Think about this rather scary fact… Ticks that carry Lyme disease are now reaching almost half of the counties in the United States. If you take a few moments to contemplate the impact that this has on our health and well-being, you would be right to hear a few alarm bells. Here’s an article with more information:-
Ticks that can spread Lyme disease now live in almost half of U.S. counties, according to a new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Varieties of the deer tick that may carry bacteria responsible for Lyme disease are present in 45 percent of counties nationwide, compared with just 30 percent in 1998, researchers found.
These tiny ticks cause big problems and they are showing up here, there and everywhere!
Our study shows that over the past nearly 20 years, the distribution of Lyme disease vectors has changed substantially, with notable increases in the North-Eastern and North-Central States. The tick is now established in areas where it was absent 20 years ago.
Take note of the recommendations to protect yourself, your family and your four-legged friends. Don’t become another reported Lyme disease case.
